Day 30

Todays Miles: 31.19
29 Run Days- 1 Off Day
Total Trip Miles: 810.86

Today was a great day back from my first off day. I was going to do a few extra miles but I got caught up talking to some older guys sitting outside a old store just talking and they had me join them.

Today was full of rolling hills the whole way. The temperature has been the same as all the other days these past two weeks. Today hit a record high as the hottest place in the whole country today.

Kurt came and picked me up today and took me by a place called the fox farm. (No foxes) but when we pulled up there were between 15-20 coyotes. They really weren’t scared of us. They just backed off some and looked at us through bushes.

Tonight is Kyles birthday so I get to go and enjoy a great afternoon with him!
Happy birthday man!

I want to give the biggest shout out and thank you to Sherrie Klover! She is just the sweetest and most genuine hearted person! Sherrie is the race director for the Hawk 100 I did last year in Lawrence Kansas. If you are interested in an amazing race with some of the best people with the best aid stations imaginable then go check out the Hawk. They have a 26.2, 50 and a 100.
Sherrie sent me some goodies, she sent me some Hawk swag which I love the light weight hoodies they have, and some shoes. Sherrie has went above and beyond for me and one of these days I will figure out how I can repay her. For now, all I can really say is if you want an amazing race with life long memories go check out the Hawk.
Sherrie if your reading this, you never fail to make me smile out here. I thank you from the bottom of my heart! When I get back the Hawk will be the first race I sign up for!

To my vets:

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.

All the adversity I’ve had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me…. You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you.
