Day 16

Today’s Miles: 27.30
Total Trip Miles: 451.60
Daily Average to this point 28.22 miles/day

Today was a good day. I was able to run a few miles on the highway before getting on the Chief Ladiga trail that turned into the Silver Comet trail once you crossed the Alabama/Georgia line.
So, I was able to get a solid 15-17 miles in on the trail with no cars only a cyclist from time to time. After getting off the trail it was back to the road for a little while and the last 5 miles was going through a town so mostly sidewalk. I did see more dogs today which I loved!
Also, on the trails the only down side was the gnats and bugs. No shade trees either. But all in all I will take the bugs and no shade today because it gave me some good solid running time. I may get tired of the heat later but for now I appreciated the ability to run.

Tomorrow I’ll be working my way hopefully to Cartersville, Georgia. It should be between 31-32 miles.

On a interesting note, so far, I have been through Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and now in Georgia. All I have left is to finish Georgia and South Carolina then I’m off to South America where I will start in Lima, Peru. A place I went in the Navy and loved it! So, you can say, I am looking forward to being back down there!

I just want to say thank you for anyone that has reach out and gave me any amount of money or donated online no matter how big or small. It has made getting food much easier with some days never seeing a place to get food at all. So being able to buy a little in advance is really nice. So I really appreciate all of you and you Have been such a blessing to me!

To my vets:

1. If you do not go after what you want, you can never get it.
Don’t be scared to follow your ideas and chase your dreams. Having passion is a very powerful thing!
2. If you do not ask, the answer will always be no.
If you need help, do not hesitate to ask someone. People all over the world are willing to let you lean on them so you can go after the things you want in life!
3. If you do not move forward, you will always be in the same place.
Whether it’s weight change, business ideas, dream jobs, cleaning the house, or anything else on your mind. If you do not take even the smallest of steps towards those goals you will wear a hole in the ground where you are at.

Love all my brothers and sisters out there, you are not alone!
Hooyah!
