One Day Out

Emotions are running high. Not just for me but for my family as well. Tomorrow will be the first step in a long journey. A journey that will forever change my life.
There will be ups and downs but just like any other roller coaster i will keep on loving forward till I get to the end!

As my brother kamryn told me today.
Most people dream with their eyes closed, but for me, I am choosing to dream with my eyes open. I choose to purse those dreams unlike those that only dream at night.

I look forward to sharing this journey with everyone that follows it.

7 Days Out

Had a great time with my interview this morning with Faune Riggin at KZIM/KSIM out of Cape.
For anyone that wants to listen to it you can go to the KZIM KSIM website (kzimksim.com) and under Podcast there will be a picture of me and the title Race Around the World. It's about 15 minutes long.

Let the nerves come rolling in now. I know my family is starting to get more anxious as each day seems to pass so quickly.

I still have my GoFundMe open for anyone willing to donate its called Race Around the World. Or Paypal using my email address.

Looking forward to seeing what Adam King was about to put together for their news promotion for me. Hopefully that will be out soon.

For everyone following this journey I am extremely thrilled for you to come along this adventure with me! I will be sure to get many pictures and write all about my experiences along the way!

9 Days Out

Had Adam King with KFVS-12 at the house again. He had to get some more footage of me running before they aired the preview of my show.

Today, I did a lot of route planning and finalizing for my trip from here to South Carolina. It feels good putting some of the trip in stone but also wakes me up to the reality of myself leaving in just over a week.

Have still been facing a some of bad vibes and negative attitude towards my run,
As I have told many, "if you have to ask why, you will never understand."

To anyone following this:

Live your life for no one but you; you don't have to please anyone but yourself with your goals. Those who love you will glow seeing you immerse yourself in your passion.

Everyone wants to be there for your success, but not many want to be there for the struggle.
Find those people that come along in your life like a soft breeze that gentle stokes those simmering coals that are deep inside you.

Check on those veterans that may seem the strongest. Sometimes those are the ones that need it the most.

10 Days out / Easter Sunday

Today has been lovely. My nieces both gave me something they want me to take on my world run to think of them. My niece Jacey gave me a drawing and Kambri gave me a blue rock she found.
They had a great time hunting Easter eggs at my house, but they both said I hid them to difficult.

From a previous day, I did find out what happen with the KFVS news story that was going to air this past Thursday. They will be coming tomorrow to interview me again with a few more things before airing it Monday April 22nd at 6 and 10 and then the full story on memorial weekend.

For anyone interested in a shirt, The logo is below. The price is 20 dollars plus shipping. The shirt colors are white or grey. Any size available. Comment on the post here or email me for an order. The top image is front and the bottom image is the back.

12 Days Out

12 days...

I'm not sure what happened with the news story last night. It seemed they may have been running behind on air so they weren't able to get to it. Ill keep everyone updated when I find out more.

On the 24th ill be with kzim ksim radio station and speaking on their talk show.

I started to pack my cart how its going to be on the day I take off. I didn't think it would be as hard as it is to figure out what I want where depending on weather or how quick I may want/need something out. I only have about 3 things left to get and I will have everything I need for my journey with the exception of monetary funds coming in the form of uncalculated expenses or fees/emergencies like getting hurt, the prices of flights going up more than expected when I get closer to flying to each country, and daily allotment for food could always be better than $4.50. So, for anyone who may want to donate, the previous things are what that money would be going towards. The first thing being a small emergency fund for my physical wellbeing. The second being my daily food ratio going up to about 6 dollars a day leaving me feeling much more comfortable. The rest would then be for unexpected fees in countries or flight fluctuations that cant be truly predicted till ready to purchase the flight.

Lastly for today, I will dial training down by the middle of next week to give my legs a break before I head out then lead into a small milage the first day, a big jump doubling my milage the second day, then back down for a few weeks to get used to it all and help prevent and early injury.

Donations can be on paypal at:

or under the fundraiser tab on this blog is my gofundme.

I greatly appreciate anyone willing to dontate regardless of how much!
I am making a list of everyone that donated $25 or more.
This list will be used once the run is completed in sending out thank you cards, completion t-shirts, and anything else that may come up along the way.

13 Days Out

With just 13 days left things are getting more real as the hours pass. All the what-ifs are rolling in.

Some good news is the first airing of my interview with KFVS-12 is tonight.
I also was able to get an interview with a local radio station next week on the 24th, which I'm hoping is going to be up beat and fun.

Sitting down on this rainy day with my dog, Tigger, as I scratch her head and she looks up at me, makes me realize how much I'm going to miss her while I'm gone. Makes me hope she isn't to lonely at night without me. Makes me think that I hope she remembers me when I get back.
Today has been a day of deep thought while listening to the rain come down. Today has been a day that I knew was coming but just didn't know when.

20 Days Out

20 Days Out

I had a interview with Adam King KFVS-12 today. What a great guy. I am very pleased with the way he is handing the story and how he wants to put it out to the community. He plans on a small run within the next couple of days and then during the memorial week showcase he plans on doing a bunch bigger story run. I will be in South Carolina when it runs, but nonetheless very grateful for the opportunity to be apart of their veterans week.

Training has been going well. The cart (which is packed and ready to go) Is weighing in at around 20 pounds at the moment. I know I will lose things as I go because I  know I overpacked to be safe. My ideal weight will be around 12-15 pounds.

I want to give a huge shout out to anyone that has supported me in any way so far and anyone that wants to help me along the way.
I would be more than happy to put business logos, names, or anything you want on my cart or apparel if you want to help be apart of this wonderful journey. I would also be happy to take pictures with your gear in cool places around the world if you want to be apart of the journey.

To everyone following the blog.
I will try my best to post daily while I am gone. In the States I know it will be possible but once im in south America I am not sure how service will be but I will do my best.
I will be posting pictures, videos, stories from my journal, and anything that helps bring you along with me while im out there.
I will start posting daily on here when I am 14 days out.

Thank you to everyone reading this!

For anyone who doesn't know, my cause is suicide awareness. If you know a veteran or you know someone who could use someone to talk to I encourage you to reach out to depression2extinction and they would be more than happy to help out! 22 a day is way to many! We need to help our veterans who fought hard for years helping us in a way most people will never understand!

One Month Out

With just under a month to go many emotions are running through my mind and body. The random goosebumps and butterflies to my mind running seemingly forever with all the possibilities and outcomes that can happen. I am excited but nervous. The next year and nine months my home will be a running cart and a single person tent. Ill be staying on the side of a road in places that are foreign and unknown to me. Places, in which, I don't speak the language nor will I know the locals. This journey and record attempt will not come easy, and I understand there will be hard days. I look forward to sharing with everyone the adventure that is about to unfold.

I also want to say that my cause is something that is near and dear to my heart, Veteran Suicide Awareness. At least 2 veterans and 1 active duty service member takes their life daily. I know what it is like to suffer, to be numb, and to feel useless. I encourage each one of you reading this to reach out to a veteran and make them feel wanted. Find a homeless veteran and bring him some food. Let those that have served you for so long get served in their time of need.

On another note: I bought my flight to Peru. It's from Myrtle Beach to Lima. My plan is the first weekend in June. This gives me plenty of time to run to South Carolina and have a few days with family before I head out. :)
